Images of the pyramids in Mexico are mixed with images of my family in the 1960s during a celebration of my brother's First Holy Communion. He sits with my mother and holds a framed image of Jesus with his heart aflamed - the Sacred Heart. With the pyramid at Chichen Itza, Tulum and the Olmec colossal heads. This is a film collage of sorts that expresses aspects of Chicano cultural experience and identification.

I traveled by bus in Yucatan with only a backpack, a change of clothes, a Super 8 camera and ten rolls of Super 8 film. Images are gathered from around Yucatan and the state of Tabasco where the Olmec heads are displayed in an outdoor setting.
